This is a scam, my parner recieved a call, knew his full name. They claimed to be working with HMRC! Asking questions regarding marriage. My partner believes they may get personal info from CV websites, as he's been using these a lot lately. They know you'll answer your phone (job hunting). Coincidence? Be careful.

Scam re tax marriage allowance rebate asking for details

Asked if I were still married, I picked up the phone and didn't speak, but he then used my first name. Said I didn't want anything and hung up

Opened with mentioning some benefits and asked if I am married, when the two things are mutually exclusive ! Told her I see no benefit in being married, she paused and then quickly Hing up. The alarming thing is, she started the telephone call calling out my name! Somehow she got my number and also got my first name ... no idea where she got the details from.

Said they were from marriage tax allowance to see if I was entitled to it . I said we’ve already tried . Said thanks and hung up

Marriage allowance. Caller claimed that they were working on behalf of the government. When I asked what company he worked for again, he hung up on me! Scam of course.

Told me I could claim marriage allowance but I would have to sign a form immediately. I disconnected call.

I could claim up to £1500 for marriage allowance? Called at 5.30pm? Scam?

Unsure 're. a scam? marriage allowance return???
