Received a text with “my” customer number. According to the advantis website and this customer number I owe £1000 to HMRC. I know for a fact I don’t owe that amount, or any amount for that matter. Called them to tell them they got the wrong phone number and they want my personal details plus they started to call me back daily to pay.
Text message about a letter I will receive soon + “my customer number”. I googled the number that texted me and I was given the advantis website(although if you look carefully the number is close enough but not the same). According to the website I owe £998 to HMRC. I don’t owe this amount, I have access to my personal HMRC accounts and I have zero debt. I called advantis. They wanted me to give them all my personal details so they can “confirm” my identity. I’ll wait for the letter, thanks.
Scam by letter and phone numbers claiming to be after HMCR debt.
Any doubts ring or log in to HMCR.
I'd not believe the couple of positive reviews on here.
This is a completely legit company called Advantis Credit. They will have been provided your number from someone you owe money to, the likes of HMRC/DVLA etc... Answer the call, save the headache of blocking them. It's in your interest to resolve issues with them, than update this phone number database claiming they're scammers. They most certainly are not.
Blocked this number two weeks ago as I don't owe money to anyone. Just checked my BT junk voicemail box and discovered that Advantis Credit has been calling me every working day and I certainly have not been receiving any letters from them.
Automated call from Advantis Credit. Following up on a letter they sent me but I never received. I don't owe anyone anything so either they had a wrong number or it's a scam. If they really wanted to contact me, they should speak to me personally.
