I had this call and spoke to a nice woman about an order I placed (she tried to get me to buy protection for an item). After hanging up, I googled the number and came across all of this stuff and panicked that I had given possible information to a scammer.
I called Currys and after some hassle with the automated options, I managed to get through to customer service who confirmed the number for me and said that it was one of theirs.
Had missed calls earlier, looked up number and saw these reviews and worse. When I answered the man said he was Aaron from curry's, I answered what is the issue Aaron? He slammed the phone down. RUDE!!!!
Called for Nintendo switch additional care repair for 1. 60£ a month and I never opted for it then proceeds to ask for my bank details which I told him to kindly F off and he ended it. He acts professional at first saying all the rights to your product etc fees etc
Called me to confirm delivery of the purchase from Currys. I refused the option of additional insurance. If this really is a scam then how is this information being leaked from Curry's database?
Operator knew my name and ordered item from curry’s. Wanted me to take protection cover against damages whilst in transit. He instantly hung up when I said no.
Also just received a call from this number after making a purchase from Curry's. He insisted that I needed to confirm my details with them for GDPR reasons after I said that they should be the ones confirming the details. They also insisted that I had to provide my billing address. After this I was sure that it was a scam call, and Curry's was later able to confirm that they never called.
Called to confirm delivery date, tried to sell warranty even though my machine already came with 5 year warranty. You can report them officially on this website - https://ico. Org. Uk/make-a-complaint/nuisance-calls-and-messages/spam-texts-and-nuisance-calls/
Made a purchase online on Sunday 17th started to get calls from this number on the 19th wish I had found out about this first has would not have used Curry’s and will not for any future purchase. Now need to keep an eye on my card or cancel it.
I did put a comment in yesterday, but it has disappeared, I have been called twice by this number since Wednesday. Have reported it to ActionFraud, if you can all do the same it may help to stop them. Do not give the caller any information about your orders, and block the number on your phone if you can.
And I meant Thames Valley Police. Even if you call the number back by withholding your landline or mobile number, it says you were called by curry's PC world, but you don't have to call back they will call again. Don't confirm any info and block their number.
I have also purchased things from Currys and am now receiving calls from this number. Wish I had read the comments on this site before buying from Currys.
Called regarding an online purchase made day before. He knew the purchased product, asked to "confirm" address & postcode, mobile number, and knew details about previous purchases & last 4 digits of an expired card number. Wanted to sign me up for a £2. 50 a month care plan, and I only needed to provide my account number & sort code. Sounded immediately annoyed when I said not interested.
I placed an order from Currys and following day i got a call from this number, sayin it was Zayn from currys
He knew the delivery date for my product and asked me to pay for a monthly coverage??? £3. 99 a month, but product already had insurance…
I too ordered from Curry's yesterday and have had three calls today from this rogue number. I also ordered from Curry's a couple of weeks ago and experienced the same thing - the calls get through even though I have blocked them. Is it asking too much for Curry's to get in touch with BT and get this fakking number blocked. I am not ordering again from Curry's and will go to somewhere that gives a f. This problem has been going on for years with Currys.
Missed call from this number but I placed an order with curry’s yesterday and that would seem to be consistent with the other feedback - blocked the number.
Just got a call to say I placed an order from currys its should be delivered confirm address i said you should already have that, then she said was it delivery or collection i said you should know that and she hung up what a joke after placing order at currys
I placed an order with curry’s last night, got a call from this no today saying they are coming to my home in 2 minutes to deliver the parcel- i told him how come my delivery date has changed and he said we got the product in quicker hence delivering now- then nobody showed up. Contacted curry’s to inquire as i just had a feeing its a scam call and they said no body called from curry’s or there is no such record in their system for this call. Now i am reporting it to police and fraud.
Ordered some items from curry's pc world last night and just received a call saying my items should be with me today and asking to buy warranty.
After hanging up I looked at my phone and it said potential fraud, so I'm worried now!
If they are allowing XXXXX to see transactions then they should be made accountable and compensate all customers who have to go through such anxiety and potential ID theft etc! Disgraceful!
I just had a call,
I am having a parcel from Curry's delivered today and have not even got my item yet and they are calling me,
I used a email address that i only use for ordering items on line so i can ''catch'' anyone giving out my details if i get hassle.
I shall be having words with someone today if it keeps up!
Second time I’ve been contacted for a smart watch I recently bought online that they were trying to sell me a warranty that I already purchased when buying the product. Very weird!
A scam based on purchase made online at pcworld. A convincing man tried to sell me a warranty on a printer I have just bought. Pcworld were fined £500, 000 last year for data breaches. It’s happening again. Customer support phone line is useless. I will never buy from them again.
