Robo call said it was wessex water. On our landline first announced there would be a text. Then came the read out text. Fire hydrants in use. Water to homes may be discoloured.
Please acknowledge by pressing 1. Sounds very suspicious.
Didn't answer but then did internet search to check whether number safe or not and found these comments. Even if it were Wessex Water, that number oughtn't to be calling a household in Scotland, so, on the basis of the two previous comments, I suspect it's a scam. I've also just checked on my own water supplier's website to see if there's any mention of a water-quality problem - and there's not (so far).
This was a genuine call from Wessex Water reporting a potential water supply in my area (which didn't actually affect me though). Robot left message on answer device (unusual, they always hang up when detect answer service) 09: 19 G.M.T. 26-12-21.
