The lady spoke so fast I could not understand her. I asked her to repeat who she was and it was NHS. She then wanted information to identify me. I asked what did she want and she put the phone down on me.
Don't be fooled into 'going through security' with this supposedly NHS caller. My GP Surgery knows nothing at all about an NHS Immunisation Centre making these individual personal calls because the Vaccine Programme is being handled directly by GP Surgeries and their patients
Doesnt seem genuine. Constantly calling non stop- almost seems to be waiting for the right 'elderly victim' to answer the phone as doesnt want to speak when i answer.
I confirm the number is legitimate, link to the website - look it up:https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/how-you-will-be-contacted/
Found number on genuine NHS website after being called twice https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/how-you-will-be-contacted/
I believe this is a scam. The number might be listed as a genuine NHS line, but the INDIAN man who answered me tried to tell me he was calling from BT. I actually work for BT and deal with these types of calls all the time. Best thing to do is hang up straight away and ignore the call. If they call again, then just hang up. There's nothing much else anyone can do unless you have call recognition on your phone and even that doesn't necessary work with calls from outside the UK. It's about time al
Lady left a message on the first day when the call went unanswered. Called back the next day and got my 88-year-old mother to confirm her address and date of birth before I got to her. As soon as I took the phone and asked what it was about the lady panicked and said she had all the details she needed.
