Ordered groceries, delivery person left incorrect order on my doorstep. Got this phone call and since it showed it was from California, I didn't answer. They called again. Didn't answer again. I came here looking for answers and saw many others had the same experience. It would've been good if they had used a local number. I'm in Australia. Would've taken the hassle out of it.

Not a scam! Uber eats had to cancel an order for me, the store wasn’t open due to a public holiday. The store had not updated their system, the order went through and money deducted from my account. They refunded me and apologised for the inconvenience. I’m in Australia, thought it was weird being a US number but my order had been cancelled a minute before the phone call so I assumed it was Uber. They’re obviously based out of the US for all countries.

Ordered uber eats 1h ago and this number called. Since I'm from Portugal and the number was from California, I didn't answer, but they left me a voice message. I heard that and listened to some music and in the end of the call I heard the other side say something in portuguese and they hung up. Seems a scam, don't trust.
